I was down to Mexico last weekend, and took these pictures of the border fence along the Mexican American border. Mexico is on the right hand side and it appears to be a residential area with homes built up the side of the hill. At the bottom of this hill are many small shops that cater to tourists. Tucson is about an hour from the border, so a trip down to Mexico is easy to do.
Many of the houses in Mexico are patched together with a variety of salvaged building materials giving them a rather haphazard look. There is a good deal of poverty in this area, but the people you meet are some of the friendliest anywhere.

Dee: What a neat shot of the border town with a beautiful Sky.
Cool pics. I use to go down there all the time, when I lived in Phoenix.
I find the border fence a sad sight - for both countries.
What has American become? The border fence looks like something taken directly form the Eastern Bloc. That's a sad sad sight.
That boggles my mind. A border fence. Seems so ineffectual and petty. This is a powerful photo. Thanks.
wonderful pictures happy swf
The Great Wall.
The watchtower reminds me of what nowadays thank heaven is a thing of the past, those watchtowers along the Iron Curtain.
Sky knows no borders. Cheerful - puffy clouds. Thanks for sharing.
Nice shot DEE! I agree. There are parts of Mexico that are so beautiful they take your breath away. And the people are wonderful!
I like these pictures. The colors are terrific, and the wall gives it interest.
Last summer my husband, dtr., and I visited San Diego, and we drove to the farthest southwestern point in the U.S....right down to the border on the beach. It makes me sad to see it (the border)...we talked to a border patrolman, who had just been in the water wrestling with a mexican man, and he ended up going back to Mexico...I just find it so sad...wish it could just be that we could cross freely. I know that cannot happen, but it just seemed like we and they were caged animals!
