Home sweet home- for a little bit anyway

March has been a really difficult month for me. My 86 yr old Mother has been here in AZ for the winter, her usual snowbird routine, but this year she has been quite ill and hospitalized multiple times. I have spent most of the last 2 weeks at her little trailer in Apache Junction, while she has been in the hospital, so I've been away from home and my garden and dealing with all kinds of other stress.
Anyway I did get home last week for a day, and was able to take some pictures of all the wonderful things happening in the garden. I don't have access to all the proper names for the plants, as I am once again at the trailer but hope you enjoy the pictures!

One of the first Lavender Lady Passion Flower blooms

The white passion flower vine is covering my home office windows with tons of blooms this year.

I'm not certain of this little guys name- but the pink flowers are popping out beautifully.

I am wondering what will happen with the little sprigs this succulent is putting out. Are they babies or flowers?

I think a common name for this cactus is "Silken Pincushion"

This one is commonly called "Bishops Cap"

And the first pink rose after the rose bushes got "butchered" last fall!

My Persian Lilac- planted last Spring put out her first beautiful flowers! The scent is not quite as "lilacy" as I would like but they are beautiful.

This plant is commonly called a "Blue Hibiscus" but it isn't really a Hibiscus. They are more purple than blue but my camera doesn't show those colors well, making purple look more blue at times.

And my first "baby brug bud" of the year! I am beyond excited about this. The Angel Trumpet Brug had gorgeous blooms last summer and I babied it over the winter. I can't wait to watch this little bud grow and bloom!

Well I hope to be home and in the garden soon. Hope everyone is enjoying Spring weather!

Dee, so sorry to hear about your mother's illness. I hope she recovers quickly. Indeed it must be stressful for her to be in the hospital, and you to be caring for her away from your garden. Your flower pictures are so pretty! I can't believe you can grown roses in this desert. I've never had such luck. Am going to my favorite nursery, Mesquite Valley Growers, this morning to look at passion flower vines and whatnot. Take care.

I'm sorry to hear about your mother, Dee. It must be so stressful. I hope she makes a speedy recovery.

Your photos are beautiful. I like the 'Bishop's Cap' in particular. It reminds me of the geometric patterns I could see in a kaleidoscope toy I had when I was very young!

I'm sorry to hear about your mother... I know how it feels, my mothers health isn't the most stable right now either...

just a quick note... the 4 pic down is one of the Sempervivums... commonly called "hen and chicks" so those little sprouts are new plantlets... in other words, you're hen is gonna have chicks...

The two pink-flowered cacti look like different species of Mammillaria. Apparently the namer thought the little lumps looked like mammaries :) Hope your mom gets better soon!
