A little rain and lots of blooms

We have had a little rain this last week, and my potted cacti seem to be doing quite well, with several of them putting out blooms this week. I don't have the exact names for all of these...but I did make a new resolution to start writing cactus names on pots going forward. I just can't seem to keep them straight any other way. This cactus is a Gymnocalycium but not sure which one. I think the little raspberry center looks good enough to eat!

This one was just labeled Echinopsis Hybrid. This is the 3rd flush of blooms since I bought this cactus.

And closing up after a rain...

This is another Gymnocalycium.

I can't recall this ones name, and I missed the open blooms. I took this shot before leaving for my daughters this weekend and when I got home they had already opened and closed up. I love the way this little cactus looks like a little haystack!

And a Gymnocalycium mesopotamicum.

Happy Cactus Monday! Have a wonderful week! To see other amazing artwork and photography with a cactus theme please visit Teri's Painted Daisies.

Such beautiful blooms! I wish I could remember names also. I just look at them and know the general name and that I love them. You have the right idea.

It is hard to keep track of the names, isn't it? And I don't really like the looks of tags in my pots... I got an old spiral notebook, and I tape the tag onto a page, make a note of where I planted it and take a pic. That's the only way I keep track of a lot of the names.

That yellow bloom looks so delicate. All of the blooms are sweet. HCM.

I'm amazed that dry, sandy, hot places with funky shaped cactus that look all dry and dusty can form such bright, beautiful, colorful flowers. It's truly amazing. HCM!

wonderful blooms, the cactus flowers are truly beautiful, it's a wonder how they produce such beautiful flowers knowing how minimal watering they get.

I'm so jealous of your beautiful cactus blooms! I have many of the same varieties (I think), but mine just don't bloom like yours! But you inspire me and I'm going to keep trying until mine do the same!

Dee,
I think the yellow Gymno is a Gymnocalycium schickendantzii, and the small red one a G. baldianum.
Gorgeous flower photos!
