Prickly Pear blooms

The Prickly Pear cactus in the desert near my office are starting to bloom.

The color varies from yellow to peach, on the same plant.

This variety has deep orange streaks inside the flower.

The blue/purple variety have not opened their blooms yet but the new pads with their rich red color are so beautiful.

This green variety has yet to bloom too. Can't wait to see what color they are.

As I was walking back to work I noticed this tiny hole.  I wonder what little creature lives beneath. Whatever it is he sure is a neat little guy, with the little sticks outlining his little hole.

Oh, those peachy blooms are so pretty. And the cactus are very good looking too.

I've never seen a burrowing animal do that with twigs before. I considered a burrow owl, but I don't think that they are that particular. Funny.

what gorgeous shades of yellow and peach, and the colors on the cactus paws themselves. I'm in love with nature!
