June Sunflowers

I'd like to be a hummingbird....just for a day.  They buzz around and taste each flower, then zoom off high into the tree-tops to sing sing sing.  They seem to love the sunflowers though they are about bloomed out  now.  They are really friendly, seeming as curious about me as I am about them.

The sunflowers are also a big hit with the little gold finches.  If you look very closely in the following pictures you will find some happily enjoying the past blooms. Click to enlarge them.

Happy, Happy June!

I love to see sunflowers dropping down with their heads all full of lovely seeds!!! They are one of natures spectacular flowers, for sure!

My mother likes to watch the hummingbirds (they aren't in my yard very often), and she says they're very territorial which is funny to think about. Love the sunflowers! You have some wonderful diversity.

Beautiful. I used to grow one of those dark sunflowers before and the neighbors would marvel at the dark blooms since they'd never seen them before. I should probably plant a few more of them.

I love sunflower simply because it will make me remember of my younger years. Me and my playmates used to eat the seeds of the matured sunflower and we were very happy eating during our play breaks.

cool post!
