Bloomin' Tuesday- July 1st

This unique vine was labeled as a Passiflora "Lavender Lady" when I bought her but I am not convinced that is actually what it is. The blooms are more white than purple at least the first few I have seen were.

I love the exotic look of these blooms and I can't wait to see how the fruit turns out when it is ripe. The flowers are highly scented and remind me a little of the smell the orange blossoms give off when in full bloom.

I have this vine growing up the side of my house, underneath my office window.

I love the flower on your passion vine. I almost bought one of those at a Native Plant Sale in my area, but I didn't have anywhere to grow something that gets that tall. It's a keeper! Thanks for sharing.

This must be one of the Passion Vine hybrids I've read about. It's quite pretty. I wanted to grow a couple, but all the areas on my block walls have a southern exposure, and I think it would be way too hot for them to last in the summer. I do love them though.

The fragrance of the flowers sounds wonderful. I, too, am wondering if the fruit is edible.

I do believe you can eat the fruit, although I've not had this one long enough to actually sample it! And if this is truly a "Lavender Lady", I've read they are sterile and if they produce fruit at all, it won't have much on the inside. So either this isn't a Lavender Lady and the fruit will have some substance or it is and I'll find them empty! I'll sure post when I find out!
