My other Hibiscus put out the first bloom this week- although unlike the orange Hibiscus in the last picture, which has been giving me a flower at least every other day, this is a solo bloom, with no more in sight, at least in the near future.
The blooms only last a day, but they are so beautiful, and the two colors look wonderful together.
If you recall, these two Hibiscus were purchased last summer, potted in pots, and then completely died back over the winter.

When I planted them in the flower bed last spring, they were bare sticks so having them both bloom now is a real treat!

Lovely Hibiscus blooms this week! I especially like the orange one.
Oh my gosh, how I love hibiscus! These are so pretty. I bought three big, beautiful hibiscus plants early this spring at Walmart ($15 each!) and they have been blooming ever since! Love them. The colors in yours are so pretty. I wish I could plant mine in my garden and have them come up next year, but it's not to be -- I live in Colorado and they would never survive the winter!
I particularly like the pink one. I'm such a sucker for pink. I have to fight the Japanese beetles for mine.
These are beautiful! And I love your header!
Love these! I love the orange color and can imagine the 2 colors together. I didn't realize they only lasted a day. Jean
I do like the pink one a lot. The first photo is gorgeous. Every time I see another hibiscus, I think I should probably get one, but I probably wouldn't have the good luck you had with them coming back after a frost. Usually they have to be well established to do that, and that takes a couple of mild winters. I guess I'm frost shy after losing so many plants and trees in the hard freeze of a couple of year ago.

Thanks for all of your comments!
Jean: I think the blooms probably last longer in cooler climates, but they don't seem to make it through the hot afternoon here without wilting!
Aiyana: I think I have beginners luck- and I am hoping next winter is mild!
I love your Hibiscus blooms. The pink one is just gorgeous!
I think your hibiscus plants are georgeous!! I don't have any in my garden although I'm sure some of these would brighten it up!
Sincerely,
Mary Ann
I have a 15 year old hibiscus that I bring in the house every winter and it has always bloomed 2 colors but this year it bloomed 2 colors-split down the middle on one flower. Does any one know how this would have happened?
