I was driving home from the Phoenix area, after visiting my daughter and grandkids and just as I hit the Tucson area I noticed this raincloud off the interstate. I had to pull over and capture it for SkyWatch Friday.
We've had a good deal of rain here. Notice the tall green grass in the forefront of the top picture- you will only see green like that in the desert during the monsoon season.

You should have been a fly on the wall when I opened up this post - I went "Oh!!" right out loud, woke up the cats, and sat right up in my chair. What an incredibly beautiful storm capture. The rain and the thunder cell above - amazing. Okay, now the cats want lunch...

The grass does look pretty green ~when you think desert~I didn't even realize their was a monsoon season in the desert! Boy, do we need rain here in Va.

Those are just amazing shots. As if the clouds and the colors aren't enough to draw you in you see the rain coming down out of the clouds. Thanks for sharing!

Absolutely superb! Great photo! I know of no other place where the storm clouds are so dramatic than in the desert!
