Early March Morning

I have a thing for early mornings- I just love that part of the day. I feel cheated if I miss the sunrise so I rarely sleep past dawn, usually getting up by 4:30 or so. Early mornings are my time for catching up on work and email and watching the sun come up. I thought the sky was particularly beautiful this morning.

The Aloe is finally blooming under- and around the little Cholla.
And the Hyacinth bulbs I planted last Spring came back for another lovely show.
What do you do with your early mornings?

Did you water the hyacinths area in the summer even though the flowers and leaves are gone? Did you amend the soil when you planted them? I have been tempted to try bulbs, but I want mine to bloom more than one year--like your beautiful blue hyacinths!

I also love early mornings, that's when I get a little housework done before turning on the computer. You shot some beautiful sunrise pictures. And, I like the way your aloe looks with the cholla.

I'm with you, these early mornings are just gorgeous. I always get up and walk, then eat breakfast and hit the computer.

Oh, how beautiful. I always squander away my sunrises drinking coffee and snuggling with my little sugar doggie...I can't help it!!! LOLOL!

Thanks for all your comments! I am glad to hear others enjoy the early morning hours.
Nancy- I did water the area in the summer. I have added Miracle Grow garden soil to the normal clay like dirt in my beds. I was surprised when they came up again.

I haven't seen a sunrise in years! Unless forced, I don't get up before 9:30 AM. When I started first grade, my wish was to be finished with school so I wouldn't have to get up early. Had to wait 47 years from that point before I could live my dream!
Your hyacinth is really nice for a second time around. Years ago I planted hycinth bulbs and they were nice the first year, but the following year they were 1/4 the size.

I visited Tuscon this winter for the first time and loved it. Your photographs are good at capturing that beauty.

Great shots. I get up real early in the mornings long before the crack of dawns whip. Then rather than disturbing my new roommates, I hunker down in my room and catch up on as many of the blogs I'm following as possible before drafting a new post of my own (which I should be doing right now). I just noticed Teri C. is following your blog. That's really neat. I remember her from Illo Fri. Well I need to go get my post drafted. Sun will be rising soon.

Dee, beautiful photos! I'm an early riser, too! UNFORTUNATELY, I have to drive to work 5 mornings! Yuck! But, on weekends, I get up early and sometimes I go out driving in our local desert (near Palm Springs) and look for beauty in the desert!
