New leaf growth on the grapefruit. This tree gave a bumper crop this year but they were very small fruits. I still have lots to learn about how to grow citrus.

I don't seem to have as many bees as last year which is concerning. If you have bees visit your trees and plants are you noticing a decrease this year?

I really don't mind not having too many bees nearby. Looks like you are going to have many good lemons.
Beauteous blossoms! When I step out at 6am to walk, the fragrance is just awesome! I love it.
We had bumper crops on everything this year. Must be the neglect we give them. lol
There is nothing like mature trees and what a variety of citrus you have. I love the smell of the blossoms. We still have lemons and grapefruit on our trees, but no flowers.

The bee season hasn't started yet here - there were plenty last year. I hope there will be lots this year too - I will let you know.
I believe my bees are decreased this year! I still see them, but not as many!!!
I've noticed a decrease of bees too. Also, birds and lizards. I thought it may be too early, but now I'm getting a little concerned.
Do you notice the slight difference in the scent of each type of citrus? I can discern the difference in each and I especially love the fragrance of grapefruit blossoms.

Just starting to see bees this year, the pears are blooming, but it's not really bee season for a few weeks yet, when the peaches start blooming.
But I have seen about the normal amount...

Those Bee photos are great. I have a gazillion bees that visit my yard out here in Vail during the summer. They work like crazy to keep their hives cool, so the pond is always a buzz with the clamor. I was afraid of them at first, but after a while I discovered that they were non aggressive. Now I can work close to them with out freaking out. They have chased me out of the front yard a time or two. They send out their attack dog and she dive bombs me without stinging. That's when I figure it may be best to go hangout elsewhere.
Wow, I LOVED this post. It never occurred to me before just what citrus flowers might look like. ahey're all lvoely, but that lime really catches my fancy!
There are plenty of bees up here in Sycamore Canyon and I just planted my first Dwarf valencia orange tree!
Thanks for all of your comments! I am glad to hear most of you have lots of bees. I had a huge swarm in my yard last year, so maybe that made it seem like there were more, than I am seeing this year. I think I like the scent of the lime flowers the best!
Dee, absolutely BEAUTIFUL photos! My neighbor's grapefruit tree still had a couple of blossoms and I went out and took pics of them. I have a Meyer lemon and it NEVER has lemons!!! Is that because it needs another Meyer lemon to pollinate it? It's over 10 years old and it gets lots of blossoms, but no fruit! I really enjoyed your "blossoms" pics!
