Here is the little tree
And as I was out in the backyard I also noticed the Orange tree has finished blooming and is loaded down with teeny tiny oranges now. Many of these will drop, but hopefully I will still get a nice crop this year.
And the last surprise- my Bird of Paradise plant is unfolding a gorgeous new leaf! I wish this guy would bloom- so far nothing!

Doesn't it make you feel good when you transplant something and it survives!
Wonderful surprises in your garden! We're planting a baby pomegranate tree this year to replace a monster mesquite volunteer that grew too big for our small yard and had to go. Bird of paradise were my favorites when I lived in California, but I haven't been able to grow them here. Looking forward to pictures of your bird blooming.
I can't grow bird of paradise here, but we do have pomegranates... That may be a flower bud rather than an immature fruit... They're wonderful plants.
Your little pomegranate tree must be so happy you saved it that she is giving you a gift. No foolin' :)
Hello, I found you through Kathie's Sycamore Canyon. Lovely photos. I have only been to your part of the US a couple of times and find it a very beautiful state. Looking forward to coming back one day. Great blog!
Pomegranate trees are so beautiful in the fall! Nice snag!
My parents have a ton of blooms on their orange and tangelo trees this spring. I guess the conditions in Tucson are good this year!
Glad to see someone still has an orange tree!!! Nice!!!
One day your Bird of Paradise will be blooming like crazy!!!
Beautiful photos. I think you've inspired me to just go out and purchase a Pomegranate tree. I've wanted one for years, but something else always caught my attention. I think this is the year!

Surprises like that would be welcome anywhere. We planted two small grapefruit trees here over a month ago, and there was only one blossom on one of them. Now suddenly the other one has a bunch of white buds ready to open. I'm learning as I go because I've never grown citrus before. We chose grapefruit since it's more tolerant of freezing temps. Keep us updated on the blooms.
i have a stroy or two from april fools day
