Frozen in the desert

Winter has come to Tucson and brought with it several nights of hard freezes.  Walking through my yard breaks my heart- so many plants have frost damage.  I've got lots of clean-up to do once it warms up a bit.  However much as I dislike Winter there is no denying the beauty of the snow covered peaks that rise up North of the city.  I just wish the cold would stay up there too!
Spring...where are you?

It's hard for me to imagine frost in a desert!

I hope 2011 is a great year for you and that the spring comes soon!

I hate snow! except on the mountains where it belongs. This hard frost is killing me. Yesterday I did a tour of the damage...and there is damage....I can protect 1 night, but 3 nights!! I think tonight I'll be able to take off the blankets and pull out the pots of kumquats and citrus. I covered ALL of the citrus...so far everything looks fine, but several of my cactus broke in half!!! But let's end on a positive note:) The fruit trees are getting their chill hours:)

Yes it is beautiful but I understand your concern. I hope that everything recovers nicely and you won't be cleaning up extensively!
