The promise of peas for Bloomin Tuesday

I put in my first little garden this Spring, and I have been really pleased with how things are coming along. The birds ate most of the carrots and had the peas pretty devastated too until I got a net over it. Now that they've grown a bit the net has come off and so far the birds and rabbits are leaving it alone. I've been watching and waiting for the first blooms on my Sugar Snap peas and they have finally arrived. I probably only have a few meals at most coming but I can already taste them!

Here is the little row of peas climbing up at the back of the garden patch.

The two Early Girl tomato's have really gone wild. The tomato's are about the size of a tangerine and I can't wait to taste them!

If you look close you will see a nice sized banana pepper on this little pepper plant. It was a surprise to me the other day, as I had been so taken with the tomato plants that I hadn't really been watching the peppers.

Here is the whole garden patch- mostly corn that my son was interested in trying. The two Early Girl tomatoes, a few carrots that are hardly visible and the peas along the back. I think I learned a lesson or two about spacing with this years bed.

Looks like your veggies are thriving, especially your tomatoes! We're trying a banana pepper plant this year and a couple of tomatoes.

Your little garden is doing well. I hope you get to eat some before some critter gets it! The pink cactus flower below is lovely. Jean

What a sweet little bloom on your peas. Congrats on your little veggie garden. I'm trying my hand at having a designated spot this year too. Hope you have a yummy harvest. :)

Your veggies are looking great. Congrats on being bitten by the gardening bug! I left the city 6 years ago, and bought my first home, in the country... with a YARD!! And now all I want to do is dig in the dirt too!

Don't you just love it?
Happy Gardening!

Nice to read your garden notes! It's vicarious planting for me, but
this may be the year I get the back yard overhauled... And I bet everybody (birds, bunnies) in your garden leave the hot peppers alone!

I guess I missed you on Bloomin' Tuesday. You must have posted after I made my rounds.
You have a great looking crop of vegetables.
I've already had several pattypan squash from my plants, as well as handsful of cherry tomatoes. I think I like veggie gardening!
