The promise of peas for Bloomin Tuesday

I put in my first little garden this Spring, and I have been really pleased with how things are coming along. The birds ate most of the carrots and had the peas pretty devastated too until I got a net over it. Now that they've grown a bit the net has come off and so far the birds and rabbits are leaving it alone. I've been watching and waiting for the first blooms on my Sugar Snap peas and they have finally arrived. I probably only have a few meals at most coming but I can already taste them!




Here is the little row of peas climbing up at the back of the garden patch.



The two Early Girl tomato's have really gone wild. The tomato's are about the size of a tangerine and I can't wait to taste them!

If you look close you will see a nice sized banana pepper on this little pepper plant. It was a surprise to me the other day, as I had been so taken with the tomato plants that I hadn't really been watching the peppers.

Here is the whole garden patch- mostly corn that my son was interested in trying. The two Early Girl tomatoes, a few carrots that are hardly visible and the peas along the back. I think I learned a lesson or two about spacing with this years bed.
